Red September "Back to School" or Still on the Beach" Party

The Summer is nearly over, but not before we have welcomed the new season with our traditional Back to School Party!

Each year the BCC crowd gathers at this much-loved event, cool and relaxed after the holidays, showing off bronzed tans and swapping exotic stories. Quite appropriately, this year it will take place in the ubercool Champagne Room of the Beaufort House in Chelsea. The details are:

Friday, 9 September, from 8.30 pm onwards, in Beaufort House Chelsea, 354 Kings Road, Chelsea, London SW3 5UZ

The event is free for BCC Members, and £15 for Friends, payable at the entrance. All attendees will be treated to a welcome drink and dances till dawn and should register on the link below as admission is by guestlist strictly. Places are limited and Members are given a prefernce.

As it is traditional for Back to School Parties, you can put your favourite school outfit, from the old classics such as pioner and komsomol uniforms or public school ties, to the latest trends in youth wear, such as riot hoods, face masks and stolen Nike trainers. (We don't recommend bringing stolen plasma TVs for added authenticity! It is also not compulsory that the trainers are actually stolen.)

If you don't feel quite Back to School yet, you can use our traditional "Still on the Beach" clothing option. Here the choices are also multiple: Neoprene surf wetsuit (you can bring the surf as well, if not too big), Borat swimsuit, "Hello Sailor" striped T-shirt and many others...

On a different note, as many of you know, at the end of this month the Sofia Hall next to the Embassy will be converted into a Bulgarian Cultural Institute in London. The organisers have reached out to the City Club with a request to help partially fund the purchase of a performance stage for the new Cultural Institute. In the spirit of our long standing relationship with the Embassy and of supporting culture-related events and needs, we have agreed to partially fund this purchase. To that effect, tomorrow night at Beaufort House next to the guestlist at the entrance you will see a box for collections. We kindly ask for a donation of £2 from each guest to help this worthy cause. The new Bulgarian Cultural Institute is where the rehearsals of our beloved London Bulgarian Choir take place and where we will undoubtedly witness many magical performances in the years to come.

Looking forward to partying with you at Beaufort House!
